Diode

Diode is an electronic component having a semiconductor junction pieces, often referred to as component 2 layers (layer N and P). Diode is a semiconductor which can only deliver electrical current and voltage in one direction only. Basic material for the manufacture of diodes are Germanium (Ge) and Silicon / Silsilum (Si).

There are different types of diodes made in accordance with the characteristics and functions without leaving the specifics, such as

B.                  DIODE FUNCTION

Function of the diode in the electronic circuits in general include:

               1.   Safety

               2.   Rectifier

               3.   Voltage regulator

               4.   Modulator

               5.   Frequency controller

               6.    Indication

               7.     Switch

C.                  How to know the condition of the diode

In the diode consists of a cathode and anode, and this was given one mark. Then the steps using the multimeter diode testing are as follows:

1. Turn the switch on the Ohm, let R x 1K

2. Attach the red pen on foot terminal or cathode (+) and black pen at the anode (-) diode

3. If the multimeter needle vibrating it means either, but if it means nothing broken or damaged

4. Then the next pen black legs attached to the cathode (+) and a red pen foot pinned anode (-). When the needle multimeter still good but if it means moving it means leaking
